Ty Glassford - Bio

Mr. Glassford was born in Mississippi while his parents were stationed at Greenville Air Force Station. His family settled in Montgomery, AL in 1978 where he attended one year of High School at Lee HS and then attended Auburn Montgomery and graduating with BS in Business Management. He started his sales career in 1983 with Comtex Telecom and was able to purchase his own branch office (Montgomery) in 1987. After diversifying his business in 2010 to include security products and services the company grew 300% over the next 10 years (2009 to 2019) including growth by acquisition of a Birmingham based company with 2000 clients in 2015. Again in late 2020, Glassford led Comtex to successfully double in size (employees and revenue) with the purchase of a local multimillion dollar competitor in the security alarm business with more than 6000 clients. Today, he and his team manage day to operations of three divisions with more than 10,000 customers.

Glassford, who prefers to be called by his first name (Ty), is active in his local church (First Baptist) serving as Sunday School director for almost 16 years, and local town government (Pike Road Planning Commission) since 2006. Hobbies include watching SEC sports and hunting. He has been married for 37 years and has three adult children including his son, Barry, who serves as VP of Service and Operations for the company.
